The GROWNUT project held a regional workshop in Durban, South Africa, bringing together PhD students and their supervisors from partner institutions — the University of Bergen (Norway), the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (Tanzania), and the School of Public Health of the University of Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

The workshop aimed to strengthen research capacity, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and provide mentoring support for doctoral candidates working on nutrition and public health in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Through presentations, feedback sessions, and networking activities, participants exchanged ideas on research progress and explored strategies to enhance the impact of their studies on health policy and practice.

This event reflects the GROWNUT consortium’s commitment to fostering high-quality doctoral training and advancing evidence-based nutrition research across the region.
